Lately I’ve been seeing the extreme value in using metals as part of your investing. I honestly feel that a currency can work backed in some method, even without gold or silver; the real problem we currently have is private control of public currency. Metals (both precious and base) are stores of value. // //

This week I’m running an experiment to see if I can kill 3 birds with 1 stone. I received a cast iron skillet from my father who wasn’t using (or taking good care) of it. I decided to make bacon bits, use the grease drippings to season the pan and then store the grease to render it at a [...]
When people talk about prepping they generally talk about storing food, medical supplies or security measures (or the addage beans, bandages and bullets). But not many consider cookware as a prepper item. Of course many use kitchen ware for their preps, like the dehydrator, vaccum sealer, preassure canner, grain grinder, etc. But what about the [...]
I’ve been reserved to write the article that I’m going to write, but I’ve been seeing so many lies and immorality stemming from this that I can’t avoid the issue.
As you all know, I live in Florida. Recently there has been a terrible occurrence that has hit the national news regarding a boy, Treyvon Martin, who was [...]
An example of how I dehydrate some frozen vegetables for storage. These dehydrated veggies can be stored in your pantry for over 15 years if needed. There is no prep time needed to dehydrate. Just open the pouch, pour it into the dehydrator and let it run.
Be Safe.
This weekend I had a little reminder as to why we prepare and have stores of food/water. Luckily it was nothing serious at all, just an inconvenience, but it helps to show our preps can help make even inconveniences non-issues.
On Sunday, I spent the entire day with my 2 girls (my wife had to [...]
I’ve been noticing a trend on forums, blogs and videos where preppers are mainly focusing on food, firearms and general survival supplies (which is fine and I’m not suggesting they aren’t important). But in that list, we need to consider what basic tools should be in the home of anyone (prepper or not) who wants to maintain/improve [...]
A review of the Sitka Gearlinger from Maxpedition. This is my personal EDC bag that I use just about everyday.

Hi everyone. I’ve been fighting the flu for the past few days (unsuccessfully) and it’s really put me down to the point that I’ve been unable to put today’s article together. However, Michael at The Economic Collapse Blog has a great article on Germany and the Euro. It’s an interesting read since the Euro crisis, [...]
This being tax season, I figured I should write about where our income taxes really go. First off, I should make the point that all politicians, regardless of party affiliation, are full of it. So for the purpose of this article, I’m going to ask that you let go any political allegiance you may have for just [...]
